Justin Olson is one of the trumpet
players and the developer of concert opportunities in Wisconsin.
Justin is also the main organizer behind the group's work playing
events and ceremonies. Justin grew up in Milwaukee and has become
one of the most sought after and versatile musicians in the area.
Justin is a member of the Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra. He has
performed with numerous professional classical groups including
the Milwaukee Symphony, Skylight Opera Theatre, Bel Canto Chorus
of Milwaukee, Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, Bach Chamber Choir, Kenosha
Symphony, Manitowoc Symphony, Sheboygan Symphony, Waukesha Symphony,
and Racine Symphony. In addition to his classical playing, Justin
is an accomplished jazz improviser and is confident playing in many
popular styles. He is a member of Punta de Vista Latin Orchestra
and Isla Adentro salsa bands, and has performed with Mr. Lucky Swing
Sindicate and Swing Nouveau jazz big bands. He has also performed
with such artists as Art Garfunkel, the Temptations, Dennis DeYoung
of Styx, Frankie Negron, and the Ko-Thi Dance Company. Justin earned
his Bachelor of Fine Arts in both music education and performance
at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. His principal trumpet
teachers have been Mark Ridenour, Kevin Hartman, and Mark Niehaus.
When not making phone calls for the quintet, Justin enjoys camping.
He has a passion for fishing as well as tennis. Justin is also a
fan of the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers and manages
a recreational softball team in Milwaukee.
