Scott Tegge is the tuba player for
the Gaudete Brass and works to create concert opportunities for
the group in Illinois and on tour. Scott grew up in the Chicago
area but gained experience working with musicians in other areas
of the country. He earned his undergraduate degree in Performance
from the Eastman School of Music where he performed with the world
famous Eastman Wind Ensemble and his Masters degree in tuba performance
from the University of Miami. Scott also holds a diploma in performance
from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University.
Scott has performed with a number of professional orchestras, most
notably as principal tuba of the Miami Symphony Orchestra, as well
as the New World Symphony Orchestra, the Palm Beach Symphony Orchestra,
the Hollywood Philharmonic, and the Miami Bach Society. Scott has
studied with Don Harry, Charlie Schuchat, and Arnold Jacobs. Scott
is an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. He enjoys mountain
biking, the more challenging the better, as well as drinking fine
coffee, the more caffeinated the better. When not performing with
the quintet, he enjoys spending time with his wife Yoo-Jin and running
with her in the city parks as the sun comes up.
